Such a bitter sweet thought! I miss my friends and family back home but I don't want to leave this place. I love it way too much!
I am going to take some time to fill you in on the past 3 months. Wow, can't believe it's been three months and I and my program is quickly coming to an end.
Let me start by talking about my job!
I am working at Port Orleans Resort as a Children's Activities Cast Member. We play games and dance at the pool all afternoon. At night we have a campfire to roast marshmallows and then we show a movie, every night. I don't think I could have been place in a better job. I love everything about it. Many people have asked me how is this helping me with my communication degree. I am talking on the microphone for 75% of the day and chatting with guest and helping them with any problems they may have. Okay, so maybe my job is not always 100% the best. There are a couple people that I am not a fan of being around and sometimes you have those kids that just annoy the crap out of you but you just have to put that smile on and remember people are always looking at you so make sure you never show that you're annoyed. I am really going to miss my job when it's time for me to go home.
ROOMMATES!
AH! My first set of roommates were PSYCHO. Kristy and I lived with 4 girls from Puerto Rico. Everything was fine the first couple of weeks but after about a month things got real. These girls were some of the rudest people I've ever met. They treated us like crap and tried telling us how to live. We put in several request to move and then finally, we made the decision to move even though we were going to be separated. Kristy and I were both moving into 4 bedroom apartments in Chatham Square. Kristy got put into an apartment with 2 girls that I knew from high school so we ended up switching apartments so that I could live with them. Probably one of the smartest moves ever. I love my new roommates so much! I've hung out with them more in the past 2 1/2 weeks than I did with my old roommates in the 2 weeks I lived with them! I couldn't ask for better roommates. Things with me and Kristy aren't the best anymore since we don't live with each other but I am okay with it because I have people there for me.
Like I said before I miss my family like CRAZY.
I was about to see my Godmother and some friends this past weekend which was really nice since I hadn't seen anyone since I've been here. In just 10 days my parents and nephews will be here. I am so excited about this. My parents haven't been here in over 20 years and this will be my nephews' first visit! I know they are very excited and that is making even more exciting for me. Knowing that I can give them that opportunity is one of the best feelings ever.
Let's talk about some of the fun I've been having since I'm here.
Getting into the parks for free is one of the coolest things ever. I can go to Animal Kingdom and go ride Everest then hop on a bus to Epcot and grab a bite to eat in Mexico. Tomorrow I can go to the Magic Kingdom meet a few characters, and then hop on a bus to Hollywood Studios for some thrill rides.
Since I've been here I've also been able to go to a couple of 'hard-ticket' events at the Magic Kingdom. I was able to attend Night of Joy back in August. That was one of the best nights I've had since I'm here. I was able to see Matthew West perform. Probably one of the pest live performances I've ever seen! and I got to see Jeremy Camp perform in front of Cinderella's Castle. Speaking of Cinderella - you know she's my favorite, right? - I go to meet here about a month ago. When I got to meet her I cried just because it has always been one of my dreams. I've met a ton of characters and that is always a ton of fun. I also went to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party last week. The firework show that night was absolutely amazing! I got to go with one of my favorite girls from work and we had such a fun night.
Well guys, I'm probably boring you by now.
I know this is a long blog but I really wanted to fill my readers in on life haha.
Until next time, Have a magical day!
